The main goal of this project is to employ non-conventional sensors to control robots and drones to automate common processes relevant to the society.
Expected results: the use of non-conventional sensors that capture physical variables of the environment to implement specific functions in drones and robots to achieve a common goal.

Educational games based on tangible interaction on an interactive table.

Currently, there is a tendency to find the improvement of the user interfaces. Therefore, more spontaneity and integration are offered between the physical contexts that people get involved with and the digital environments. Augmented reality and tangible interaction are paradigms of person-computer interaction that offer many opportunities to achieve it. Tangible user interfaces (TUI) permit interaction with digital information through tangible objects which are typical from our own real environment.
Expected results: to advance the state of the art in applications based on TUI with interactive tables and Augmented Reality. To develop educational games based either on TUI on interactive table or Augmented Reality.

Development of 3D Mobile Applications with Virtual Reality

The development of software for mobile devices sets out new challenges generated by the unique characteristics of these devices.
Additionally, these devices are increasingly more sophisticated. Their technological evolution permits the implementation of highly complex applications with strict hardware requirements. For instance, it is possible to develop 3D applications with high computational costs.
Software tools with a environment are more visually pleasant and they strongly attract their users. This is, to a large extend, due to the fact that the 3D environments simulated are closer to reality than their 2D counterpart. This allows the user to get involved with the environment in a more active way.
Expected Results: :to advance in the learning of frameworks to develop multiplatform 3D applications, especially for mobile devices and virtual reality applications. To develop a simple 3D mobile application with virtual reality.

Object recognition in video using Intelligent Systems.

The general goal of this project is to help students to develop image processing and computer vision solutions for non-traditional problems relevant to the academic world. Specifically, students are expected to develop and implement algorithms to analyze objects in videos and determine their position.
Expected results: to create a survey of open source tools and libraries for image processing. To create a repository of software tools to ease the development of object detection and tracking in videos, as well as the corresponding analysis of and response to special situations.
